5 Minute Makeup for Lazy Days!

It's slowly transitioning into summer and I don't know about you guys but when the weather is nice I like to keep my makeup to a minimal. Here's my five minute makeup routine using only five products.

1. Foundation - I like to keep my foundation in the summer relatively light coverage compared to ones I'm more likely to navigate towards in the winter time. One of my current favourites is the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Foundation, this is on the more expensive side but so worth it! It looks so natural and radiant.

2. Bronzer - I'm absolutely obsessed with the NYC "Sunny" Bronzer recently, I've been wearing it every single day!

3. Eyeliner - unlike many, eyeliner isn't really a necessity to me, I definitely don't wear it on a daily basis. However on days when I'm keeping the rest of my makeup pretty straightforward I like to add a bit more eyeliner than I would usually to balance it out, today I used Maybelline Gel Eyeliner.

4. Mascara - mascara is probably my favourite makeup product, I have tried and tested a staggering amount in the few years I've worn makeup. I still try out a ridiculous number of new mascaras but one of very few I will continue repurchasing is Benefit "they're real."

5. Lip Balm - I absolutely love lipstick but on those days I can't really be bothered to do my full face of makeup I stick to a lipbalm such as the EOS one I used today. However, you could also opt for a tinted lip balm such as the Maybelline Baby Lips or the new Benefit ones - I must get one of those!

Spring 2014 Makeup!

Hi, today I'm going to do a post about a couple things I'm changing up in my makeup routine for the springtime using only a few products.

Firstly, this spring I am going to wear more coral lips, I find that in the winter months I tend to stick to natural colours or more berry tones. Two of my favourite coral lip products are the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in "Orange Punch" and Benefit's "Spiked Punch" lipgloss - this is super pigmented, I love this formula so much!

Here you can see swatches of both in slightly different lighting.

Another change in my makeup for the springtime is more natural eyelashes, this is unusual for me as usually I like the look of quite thick lashes with two or three coats of mascara. Maybelline's Mega Plush is amazing for getting a natural look for eyelashes, perfect for the daytime.

A final change in my makeup routine for spring is glowy skin, in the winter I quite liked the matte look. Two products I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of to achieve this is the Beautyuk Stripey Blush in shade 3. This is very shimmery compared to most of the other blushs I own. As it has five different colours, you could use each individually but I prefer to just mix them all which gives this beautiful kind of bronzey-blush.

This is a swatch of all the colours mixed together.

Finally, I am going to switch my primer to the Smashbox Luminizing Photo Finish Foundation Primer which you can read more about here!

This is what the primer looks like a little blended out.

February 2014 Favourites

Despite having my blog since September I've only ever done one favourites post so today I wanted to expand on that and share with you my February favourites.

Ted Baker Body Spray: this came in a little gift set I got from one of my friends for Christmas. I'm terrible at describing scents but it has rose, sandalwood and raspberry in it but is definitely more floral than it is fruity. I think it's perfect for the springtime.

Topshop Lip Balm: I've really just been obsessed with lip balms this month and I definitely have more than I need. This one from Topshop has such nice packaging and smells identical to YSL lipsticks.

Benefit Cream Shadow "r.s.v.p.": I really love cream eyeshadows and this shimmery champagne coloured one from Benefit has been one of my most used recently. It's really pigmented and lasts all day, it can be used as a base for powder eyeshadow but I think it looks just as pretty on its own!

Maybelline Baby Lips "Cherry Me": continuing with my lip balm obsession, I have worn this shade of Baby Lips almost everyday this past week. I'm sure you've all heard so much about these but they definitely deserve the hype.

Burt's Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion: I got this mini size in a set which I got for Christmas but this has been the standout product to me. It's really lightweight and smells really nice but not overpowering. It also contains coconut oils which are amazing for your skin. I'm definitely considering buying the full size when this runs out.

Clean & Clear Morning Energy Skin Brightening Daily Facial Moisturiser: this has been my favourite moisturiser for months now but I'd never mentioned it on my blog before so I thought I'd include it now. It has lemon and papaya extracts and after using it for a long time now I can definitely say it has improved my dry skin.

Updated Everyday Makeup For School

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share with you the makeup products I've been wearing to school recently, this is for the days where I actually have enough time to do all of these steps but there are definitely a lot of days where foundation, concealer, powder and mascara is all I have time to put on quickly before leaving!

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
Maybelline Gel Eyeliner

Sleek Storm Palette: I use the shade second from the right on the top row all over the lid with the matte shade third from the left in the top row in the crease. I then use a tiny bit of the shade directly to the left of the matte colour as a highlight.

I tend to use different lip products everyday but some of my recent most used have been: Maybelline "Cherry Me" Baby Lips, Benefit Lipglosses "Life On The A List" & "Foxy Lady", Bourjois "Orange Punch" Colour Boost Lip Crayon & Mac "Angel" Lipstick.

(Top to Bottom: Benefit lipgloss, Bourjois lip crayon, Maybelline Baby Lips, MAC Lipstick)

Review: Benefit "They're Real" Mascara

Mascara is something I have tried MANY of and although there have been some I've liked more than others I had never been able to find one which I loved enough to stick to. That was until I tried this.

The packaging is really nice as with all products from benefit. The wand is perfect due to the end of the wand enabling you to separate every eyelash.

The mascara does a great job of lengthening and volumizing without clumping which is something I have found to be very rare in most mascaras. One downside is that it can be relatively difficult to take off but that means it is not going to smudge despite not being waterproof.

Overall, it is an amazing mascara and not too overpriced at £19.50 so I will definitely be repurchasing it!

Available to buy at benefit counters, boots stores or boots online as well as benefits website here.
